A library card is free to any resident of
Morden,
Winkler,
Altona,
Gretna,
Plum Coulee,
R.M. of Stanley,
R.M. of Thompson, &
R.M. of Rhineland
Non-residents can join the library by purchasing a family membership. Please ask at your local branch for further information.
A child under 13 may obtain a library card when a parent/guardian comes into the library and signs a registration card.
Your library card can be used at all four branches of the South Central Regional Library. Materials may also be returned to any branch.

No limit is placed on the number of items that may be borrowed. However, staff may limit quantities if there is a heavy demand for a particular topic or author.
Library materials may be renewed for one additional loan period if there are no requests on file for the item(s). This can be done in person or by phone.
Library materials that are out on loan may be put on reserve.
Reference books, such as encyclopedias, are available for use in the library.
OVERDUE LIBRARY MATERIALS
South Central Regional Library does not charge a daily overdue fine, however, there is a non-refundable billing fee of $2.00 per item for billed materials that are 30 days overdue.
Library privileges are suspended until material is returned/paid for, and all outstanding fees are paid.
INTERNET ACCESS
Each branch library has Internet stations where the public can access the Internet and Web Based Email. This service is free to Library members. Visitors are charged $2 per hour. Each user is issued a login password. Users are limited to 1 (1hr) session per day. Training sessions for individuals or for small groups can be arranged by appointment.
Manitoba Law Requires parental authorization for Internet use by anyone under the age of 18.
Wireless Internet service is available free of charge to all library visitors.

LOSSES AND DAMAGES
A borrower is responsible for all materials borrowed on his/her card and will be billed for all losses and damages.
VIDEOS
Videos may be borrowed for 1 week for a small handling charge. (Public
Library Services videos may be borrowed for 3 days at no charge).
ONLINE RESOURCES & MAGAZINE ARTICLES
Online Resources allow
library members access to hundreds of magazine articles, and
other databases. An SCRL library card is required. This tool

AUTOMATION
The computer system shows which branch or branches have a particular item, and lets you know if the item at your branch is already on loan. Staff will be happy to show you how to use the system and to answer any questions.
INTER- BRANCH DELIVERY
You may request material from other branches to be sent to your nearest branch.
INTER-LIBRARY LOAN
S.C.R.L. patrons- materials not found in our collection can be requested from other libraries.
