Library Storytimes are an excellent opportunity to begin life-long habits of library use and reading enjoyment.

Please call your local branch to register.

Research has shown that young children who are introduced to books become better readers and are more ready for school than those who do not.

Storytime at the library encourages children to participate in sharing stories and activities in an enjoyable and relaxing environment. Activities include songs, fingerplays, and crafts to complement the stories.   Each storytime program lasts about 45 minutes.

Visiting the library before storytime begins will prepare your child for the experience.

Families are encouraged to select materials to share at home.  The library holds 3 preschool sessions a year, each is 6 weeks long. Sessions are held in the fall, winter, and spring. Registrations usually take place for 2 weeks prior to the beginning of a session. Call your local branch for more information.
